Online Payments Availability

by | Jun 10, 2024 | Docs

You can check the availability of Online Payments with the following links. Please note that your country must be listed in both pages, as you’ll have to create an account of your own and also be able to connect to platforms.

I have a Stripe account, but I am not allowed to connect it

Some countries like India and Malaysia have access to Stripe, but not to the Stripe Connect system. This means as a foreign platform we are not able to interact with your account and therefore can’t accept it yet. As soon as Stripe allows this, we’ll send a notification to all colivings to migrate.

Here’s some more information:

How the booking process works for those countries

For countries where Stripe Connect is not yet supported, we have a straightforward booking process in place. This ensures that you can still make and receive payments seamlessly until Stripe extends full support to your country.

  1. Charging the Full Amount: Once you confirm the booking request, we will charge the full amount to the user. This includes both the Mapmelon fee and the deposit amount you’ve set (if you have not set any the user will pay the rest of the booking amount on arrival). This ensures that all financial transactions are secured and processed efficiently.
  2. Bank Account Transfer: After the successful booking confirmation and payment, we will process a transfer to your designated bank account. The amount transferred will be the deposit you set minus our service fee. This process is designed to be as hassle-free as possible, ensuring you receive your funds promptly and securely. (Please be aware that the transfer may take up to 10 days, depending on bank processing times.)

This interim solution allows for smooth financial transactions even in countries where Stripe’s full range of services is not yet available. We’re committed to providing a seamless experience and will keep you updated on any changes regarding Stripe’s availability in your region.

Cancellation Policy for These Countries

Given the current limitations of Stripe in certain countries, our cancellation policy is designed to avoid refund issues and ensure a smooth process for both service providers and users. We currently offer two types of cancellation policies for these regions:

  • Non-Refundable Policy: Under this policy, any cancellations will not be eligible for a refund. This policy is in place to provide certainty and security for our service providers, ensuring that they are compensated for their time and commitment.

We understand that these policies might be different from what you’re used to, but they are necessary under the current payment system constraints. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. As Stripe’s services expand, we look forward to revising and updating these policies to offer more flexibility and options.
